CyberBrick Robot Arm

A fully 3D-printable, remote-controlled Robot Arm designed to be a fun and approachable first step into robotics, mechatronics, and mechanical design.

This project was designed around a simple idea: make a robot arm that feels like real engineering, but is still easy to print, easy to build, and fun to use. It uses standard PLA, common 9g servos, and the CyberBrick system to create a working desktop robot with real moving joints, a functional gripper, and a handheld remote.

Why this project is different

This Robot Arm was designed with a few strict goals in mind:

  • easy to assemble
  • minimal parts
  • prints quickly
  • no support material
  • works on the Bambu Lab A1 mini

The remote keeps the electronics visible so you can understand how the system works, while the arm itself hides the wiring and focuses on movement, form, and function.

Printing

The full Robot Arm is designed to print in a single job on the A1 mini, but it can also be printed on any capable FDM printer.

Recommended settings:

  • Standard PLA
  • 0.2 mm layer height
  • Default print settings
  • Can ramp up to Ludicrous Mode for Speed 166%

No support material is required, which keeps printing fast and beginner-friendly with little to no cleanup.

Assembly & Control

The arm is powered by the CyberBrick platform and controlled with a handheld remote using single- and dual-axis joysticks.

This makes it a great project for:

  • students learning about robotics and engineering
  • teachers looking for a classroom-ready STEM build
  • anyone who wants to move beyond static prints

Customize it
