Description

Relicanth #369

Relicanth is a rare species that was discovered in deep-sea explorations. This Pokémon's body withstands the enormous water pressure of the ocean depths. Its body is covered in tough scales that are like craggy rocks.” ~Sapphire Version Pokedex entry

Relicanth was a rare and mysterious pokemon in the original Ruby and Sapphire versions. Not only was it's design peak, but it was also key to unlocking the 3 Regi's. Because of this, Relicanth was the obvious next choice for my articulated fish pokemon series. Like my other models, the body is composed of flexible scale units that allow it to "swim". As usual, the protruding pectoral fins are printed separately to maximize strength. To assemble, add glue (green below) to the flat bottoms of the head, tail, and registration pin slot:

Push the Registration Pin into place and press the two halves together (using tape to hold them together while the glue dries if desired). After the glue dries, add some glue to the exposed surfaces of the tab at the front of the body and slide the tab into the slot in the back of the head (printed separately). Then, glue can be added to the tabs of the pectoral fins and pushed into the slots on the bottom scales. To help put the right fins in the right slots, the back fins have a deeper "U-dip at the tab-fin interface:
