Description

A replacement for the original Sony a6700 APS-C camera viewfinder hood.
The camera is great, but the original viewfinder hood design lacks stiffness and is very prone to detaching while carrying the camera on a strap, especially when hanging behind your back.

I prefer the viewfinder hood to be slightly larger, so I made mine wider than the original. The clip mechanism has been improved, the tolerances are tighter, and the whole part is stiffer to ensure it won’t come loose while carrying the camera.

I printed mine using Bambu Lab PETG Basic, and it works like a charm. I also experimented with different variations, combining TPU for the hood part and PETG for the clip, but in general most TPU filaments are stiff enough that there is little to no difference compared to a version made entirely from rigid thermoplastic.
