3D Miniature of Angel Stadium
Model Information:
The stadium in Anaheim (just a stone's throw from Disneyland Resort) is home to the Los Angeles Angels and has an eventful architectural history – from an open baseball park to a closed football arena (for the LA Rams) and back again to a pure baseball temple.
- California Spectacular: The absolute highlight for every 3D model is the rock formation in Center Field. This artificial mountain formation with waterfalls, small trees, and geysers breaks up the classic grandstand geometry and shoots real water fountains into the air when the Angels hit home runs.
- The giant red Caps: The main entrance (Home Plate Gate) is flanked by two gigantic, bright red Angels baseball caps (complete with helmet arches) that serve as a canopy for fans. A fantastic and humorous detail for model building.
- "The Big A": Even though the massive, over 70-meter-high "A" with the halo is now located in the parking lot directly on the highway and is no longer integrated into the stadium, it is an essential part of any complete diorama. After victories, the halo lights up (known from the shout: "Light That Baby Up!").
- Asymmetrical Outfield: Due to the various renovations and reconstructions, the stadium has a very distinctive, asymmetrical outfield wall with grandstand sections of different heights, which makes it visually very varied.
- Dominant Red: Color-wise, the stadium stands out with an extremely clear contrast. Almost all seat shells and architectural accents shine in bright Angels Red.
