Hey everyone!

Here is a vacuum former that fits a shop vacuums.

There are two sizes one for larger print volumes and a scaled one for the regular sizes. Plate names differ with “(small)”

Happy printing!

I want to try and use this as a nail dust collector.

Great idea, if it works could you update us? Visiting my sisters in a couple months, putting a shop vac next to them whilst they do their nails sounds like a great idea😂

Printed it smaller to use as a nail dust collector. Also printed out a small cylinder adapter to better fit and provide a bit of structure for the vacuum hose.

Nice model, at a guess there's a couple of us with a pile of masks without eyes/visors. Hope your model does well in the algo! You mentioned in a previous comment you've pulled a few on it already, is it getting details done like on the master chief visor? Apologies if that's been asked already!

while this model looks awesome and I plan to print it for that application, you can also make visore using that clear flexible desk protector material with window tint film; I did that for my mandonhelmet and it works well. just FYI.

I hear you, done a couple Fett / Mando buckets in the past with that exact method. Messed a visor up putting the tint on the wrong side lol It's more for screen accuracy this model interests me, for things like the green goblin mask eyes with those curves and the Halo helmets with details in the visors. Appreciate you commenting and sharing knowledge though, it'll help somebody else in the future!

Thank you very much! I would guess it could but would depend on your material thickness and form detail. The visors I did were for helldiver helmets.

I modeled this for vaccum forming cosplay helmet visors, lenses, and other items that need to be see through. It can also be used as a downdraft table.

As a shape that holds the prototype and sucks in air, I think it's good. Is there no plate to press down from above, holding the heated acrylic material, etc, that will become the product? Can the molding machine itself withstand heated acrylic material, etc? By the way, I made a similar molding machine and prototype with PLA, and both deformed due to heat and vacuum (lol)

Yes the mold can withstand the heat from acrylic sheets. I have used the same one for 5 separate formings. If you are concerned with the heat, I recommend printing it out of ASA or ABS. They are stronger and will work at higher temperatures. Thank you for the insight and the boost!

This is an awesome idea! Do you have a method for thermoforming that works with this?
