Description
I couldn't find models for the “Clifford The Big Red Dog” characters for my kids so I decided to try my hand at making them myself.
I was hesitant to publish this model as Cleo's character by nature is very thin and stick like. It is also heavily multi coloured. But the demand for this model is definitely there so I will provide it with the following cautions:
If you are printing this as a toy, be aware the legs, neck and tail are very fragile. The supports are very challenging to remove, be very careful with some needle nose pliers and crush the arms of the supports to detach them from each other then carefully peel the supports off the model.
The tail fur ball will detach from the tail itself on removal from the build plate; unfortunately there is not much I can do about this, the only way to avoid this is to print this model at 200%+ scale which would be giant. I peeled the tail fur ball off the build plate separately and glued it back onto the tail to get the photos. I thought about trying the scale up the tail itself for more strength, but the proportions become unreasonable to the character design.
This model is heavily multi coloured, when printed with all 4 colours there will be as much purge filament as the model itself and almost twice as much in the prime tower. I've optimized the orientation for printing as efficiently as possible and as quick as possible, I even set purge volume to 0.44.
I don't have multiple purple colours to get the true tones of the character, but a Lilac Purple body, Sakura Pink fur, Scarlet Red bow and Charcol black eyes/nose was the closest I had which defintely gets the idea across.
