Hey everyone!
I just finished the final version of the Dragon Sticky Note Holder! I’ve spent quite a bit of time iterating on this one. I actually printed it four times to get the geometry exactly right. My main goal here was to make it as efficient as possible for your shops by reducing both the total print time and the amount of support needed.
The Design & Assembly
- Filament & Printability: The model uses only about 88g of filament. I’ve carefully adjusted the overhangs so it requires very minimal support!
- Easy Assembly: The head features a snap-fit design, meaning you don't need any glue for the final assembly. Just snap it into place!
- Surface Texture: I added a specific pattern to the top surface. It’s highly functional, helping the sticky notes stay in place better, but it also helps hide the top layer lines, which gives it a much cleaner finish right off the build plate.
The Templates
To make this an even better desk accessory, I’ve included 4 different insert templates. They fit perfectly into the bottom slot and are designed with specific layouts for note-taking, task tracking, and keeping your workspace organized.
Printing & Finishing Tips
I printed the version in the photos using Matte PLA. If you want to add some quick detail to increase the value of the piece for your customers, I found that a simple dry-brushing technique works best! I used silver for the rock base and gold for the dragon. It brings out all the sculpted textures beautifully without adding much labor time to your workflow.
