This set includes three functional lid variants for spice jars, specifically optimized for outdoor use and geocaching – including smart and sustainable expansion options

🧭 Ideal for Geocaching but note do not use in the forest due to fire hazard

• Perfect as a robust, weather-resistant cache container
• Eyelet variant allows easy attachment to branches, fences, or structures
• NFC version is suitable for interactive or digital caches
• Also suitable for humid environments in combination with a TPU seal (seal is optional)

1. Standard Lid

• Ideal as a replacement or for simple cache containers

2. Lid with Eyelet

• Optimal for hidden or elevated placements

3. Lid with NFC/Magnet Holder

• Integrated recess for:
  • NFC chips (Ø 25 mm) or
  • Magnets (Ø 25 mm)

  • Metal disc (Ø 25 mm) for fishing caches

     

• Maximum height for magnet or NFC chip: 4 mm
• For smart caches or magnetic hiding spots
• NFC chip and magnets do not work either NFC chip or magnetic insert should be used

• Lid diameter: approx 40 mm
• NFC/magnet/metal disc holder: Ø 25 mm / max 4 mm height

🖨️ Print Instructions

• Recommended materials:
  • PETG → good weather resistance, easy to print
  • ASA → high UV and temperature resistance, ideal for permanent outdoor use
• PLA is not recommended as it can soften when exposed to sunlight
• Supports:
  • Standard lid: not required
  • NFC/magnet version: not required
  • Eyelet variant: Supports required
• Infill: 15–25% sufficient
• Layer height: 0.2 mm recommended

• Optional:
  • A TPU disc can be printed and inserted as a seal to improve sealing (recommended for geocaching)

• Existing spice jars can be reused instead of being disposed of
