Designed together with my child for the perfect grip! ✍️ We molded the shape with clay to find the most natural finger placement, then 3D-scanned and refined the model. It’s a huge help for fatigue-free writing! Includes a 3MF file with a negative modifier to easily adjust the hole size for any pencil in your slicer. Prints in <40 min with no supports. This pencil grip was specifically designed to help children develop a correct and comfortable finger position while writing. Its organic, ergonomic shape guides the fingers naturally, reducing hand fatigue and making homework a bit more fun.
Design Process: Custom-Fit for Real Hands
Instead of just sculpting a shape digitally, I used a deeply practical approach. I had my child hold a piece of modeling clay naturally while holding a pencil. Once we achieved the perfect, natural finger placement, I carefully scanned that customized clay model (Dummy). I then digitally refined and optimized that scan to create a clean, parametric 3D model, ensuring that the final printed grip reflects a real, ergonomic hand position. Versatile & Adjustable Design: The included .3mf file features a negative part (modifier) for the pencil hole. This allows you to easily adjust the diameter to fit any writing tool—from standard hexagonal pencils to thick triangular primary pencils.
- Default Size: Optimized for standard pencils (approx. 7.5mm).
- Customizable: Simply scale the negative body in your slicer to match your specific pen!

Printing Recommendations:
- Material: 90A TPU (flexible) or softer is highly recommended for a soft, more rubber-like feel.
- Infill: 10% for TPU to adjust firmness.
- Walls: 1 or 2 walls to keep it soft
- Layer Height: 0.2mm for a smooth surface and fast print.
- Slicer Tip: Open the .3mf file to see the negative cylinder. To fit a different pen, measure your pen's diameter and adjust the X/Y dimensions of the negative part accordingly.
