🍃 BAMBU LAB P2S HEPA FILTER SETUP:

Professional **ultra-compact** filtration system designed specifically for the **Chamber Exhaust Fan** of the **Bambu Lab P2S**  [ P2S Chamber Exhaust Fan Kit - LINK ]

Unlike bulky systems that use external ducts and separate boxes, this solution installs directly on the rear fan, saving valuable space and ensuring perfect aesthetic integration

🔥 NEW FOR P2S/X2D:

If you have a **P2S or X2D**, I designed a new system: [ Sealed Exhaust & Poop Chute Plenum - LINK ] which combines the chamber exhaust and poop chute into a single block, 100% sealed against fumes and microplastics. It can be used with all other filtration systems available on MakerWorld and, of course, with this one as well

📐 Main Features:

  • Effective Dual Stage: Combines a HEPA filter (for micro-particles) and an activated carbon module (for VOC fumes and odors)
  • Sealed (Zero Leak): Designed to accommodate an adhesive sponge gasket (1.5 mm thick) which seals the filter directly against the P2S **Chamber Fan Housing**, eliminating any side drafts
  • Reinforced Version 2.0: The ACF module includes a 2 mm central divider which prevents the perforated walls from bulging under the weight of the carbon, ensuring the lid always fits perfectly
  • Slim Design: Does not obstruct cables and keeps the printer's profile clean

 🛠️ Why choose external mounting?

The real advantages of this **100% external** project versus inserting filters or carbon boxes **inside** the original fan chamber are as follows:

  • Gasket Protection: The original Bambu snap-fit system has delicate sponge gaskets. Continuously removing and re-installing the chamber to change the internal carbon filters quickly damages them. With my system, the fan chamber **is no longer touched**
  • 5-second Maintenance: The activated carbon filter is replaced from the outside, without disassembling anything and without tools
  • Optimal Airflow: Using more common and affordable HEPA filters (Roborock / Xiaomi standard), the filter surface area is larger. This means less strain on the fan and less noise
  • Availability: I chose HEPA filters among the most economical and easy to find on Amazon and in electronics stores
  • Designed for those who print 24/7 and don't have time to waste disassembling the printer every month

🛒 Required Components (BOM)

To complete the assembly, you will need:

  1. Original Bambu Lab Screws: You will need 4 screws (you can use BT2x5 [or M2x5] or BT2x6 [or M2x6]) cylinder head with hex socket to secure the carbon module cover. Available in the Bambu Lab shop 👉 M2 Socket Head Cap Machine Screws
  2. Filtration Kit (HEPA): I used commercial Roborock HEPA filters for models: S5 / S5 Max / S6 / S6 Max / S6 Pure (and equivalent Xiaomi) Dimensions: 165 mm × 52 mm × 13 mm
  3. Filtration Kit (ACF): For the activated carbon filter, I used Ø4mm activated carbon pellets, made of hard carbon for air purification [energy efficiency class A]
  4. Rubber Gasket: The adhesive gasket needed for sealing, I used a Self-Adhesive Foam Tape, 6x1.5 mm Note on the gasket: The included one is 6 mm x 1.5 mm. It should be cut longitudinally in half (3 mm width) to fit perfectly into the filter's slot
  5. TPU Gasket (New!): New dedicated profile uploaded in **TPU (95A)**. Gasket designed to be used as an alternative to Self-Adhesive Foam Tape

💡 Want to make it easier for yourselves? To avoid measurement errors and ensure maximum compatibility, I have prepared a 'shopping list' with the exact products I tested and used myself (filters, carbon, and screws): 👉 https://linktr.ee/denis0874

🔧 Assembly Instructions

1) Print the components (PETG or ABS recommended for thermal resistance)

2) Apply the 1.5 mm gasket (cut to 3 mm width) on the rear perimeter of the HEPA module. (Without the gasket, the filter will not seal and will wobble)

3) Insert the two HEPA filters into the dedicated slot

4) Close the HEPA module cover using the 4 M2x5 screws

5) Fill the ACF module with activated carbon pellets and close the cover

6) Hook the ACF filter to the central body of the HEPA Filter, using the trapezoidal guides, and then attach the whole assembly to the P2S fan using the three side clips

NOTE ON X2D COMPATIBILITY: Initially, I thought Bambu Lab had maintained the rationality of the P2S design, but looking at the actual photos of the new X2D fan kit, I noticed they decided to make it all rounded and with the grille 'protruding' from the box. Therefore, I don't really think my filter is compatible with X2D. My design is made to seal perfectly on the flat surface of the P2S
