This door jamb finger pull provides a clean, natural way to close the Cybertruck door without contacting the exterior panel or window. It mounts inside the door jamb and gives just enough fingertip engagement to initiate the closing motion while keeping visible surfaces untouched. The geometry and surface treatment are designed to match the Cybertruck’s sharp, faceted aesthetic so it blends in and looks like it belongs there.

The design intentionally provides a shallow ledge rather than a grip. This keeps the interaction limited to fingertip contact and avoids any situation where your hand could get “hooked” or slow you down from pulling away. As the door begins to move, your hand naturally peels away as you put momentum into the closing motion. Real-world use over several years has shown no issues with finger interference. Like any door, placing your hand in the path while closing could be painful, but this design is specifically shaped to prevent that scenario by avoiding any geometry that invites gripping or trapping.

This approach comes from a product development background focused on user interaction, touch points, and real-world use conditions. The goal wasn’t just to make something that works, but something that feels intuitive, unobtrusive, and consistent with how the vehicle itself is designed.

Installation

The success of this product depends as much on the installation as the design.

Use an automotive-grade double-sided mounting tape intended for this type of application. Do not use typical household foam tape. The tape should be in the range of 0.030–0.060" (0.8–1.5 mm) thick to allow for proper surface conformity- however the part is specifically designed using a 3D scan to fit perfectly in the flat area of the door jamb.

The tape should cover as much of the mounting surface as possible.

Surface prep is critical:

• Clean the door jamb and the back of the part using isopropyl alcohol and a clean rag
• Use a wet pass followed immediately by a dry pass
• Allow the surfaces to fully dry (at least 30 seconds)
• Avoid touching the tape or cleaned surfaces before installation

Apply the tape to the part, trim it to match the shape, then press the part firmly into place. Apply pressure across the entire part to fully engage the adhesive.

Most tapes will allow light use right away, but full bond strength typically develops over 24–72 hours depending on the adhesive.

The shallow design of the part also helps minimize any prying forces on the adhesive during use. In real-world testing, a similar design has been installed on a daily-driven vehicle for over three years without any peeling or bond failure.
