🧠 Design Philosophy

The goal of the 3DLP is simple: make a fully 3D printed case that is actually good.

Instead of chasing extreme compactness, this design prioritizes:

  • Easy printing (no supports!)
  • Straightforward assembly (snap guides + glue)
  • Strong airflow and cooling (with correct hardware)
  • STRONG and a beautiful design

The outer shell acts as an exoskeleton, allowing parts to slide in and lock into place cleanly and allows for durable portability.

This is a case designed for 3D printing from the ground up.

🧱 Key Features

  • Support-less design (for most materials)
  • Simple assembly with minimal hardware
  • Superglue-friendly bonding (recommended for the tray, but not strictly necessary)
  • NFC Sconeslot ventilation for airflow and aesthetics
  • Build plate textures used for improved surface finish
  • Geometry optimized for strength and reduced warping
  • Optional multi-color logo insert support

šŸ“¦ Files Included

  • STL and 3MF files for all printed parts
  • Optimized orientations
  • Modular design for customization

🧩 Recommended Materials

  • PETG for the TRAY and REAR
  • PLA can be used for everything else*
  • *If you put a transverse fin GPU in, then switch the shell to PETG.
  • Glass Fiber or Carbon Fiber filaments will make the shell super premium looking!

Designed to print well even in PLA thanks to airflow and structure.

šŸ”§ Build Notes

  • Use light bed adhesive for reliable first layers
  • Keep enclosure open for PLA printing
  • Use minimal superglue and clamp where possible
  • Test-fit parts before final assembly

šŸ’¬ Feedback

This design is already strong, but still evolving.

If you have ideas or improvements, I’d genuinely love to hear them.
