Description
A modular research poster carrying tube that you can adapt to your needs. Just insert and twist the parts together to fix them in place.
This is an alternative to commercial, standard carrying tubes for research posters.
The main configuration shown in the photos can hold posters up to 40" wide, and consists of the following parts (as labeled in the print profile) from bottom to top:
- “Base and Top cover” x2
- “Base (with loop for strap)” x1
- “Center body (plain)” x3
- “Top (with handle and loop for strap)” x1
You can use less or more “Center body (plain)” parts to fit smaller or bigger posters.
You can also create simpler versions of the carrying tube by using “Base (plain)”, “Top (with handle)” and/or “Top (plain)”.
For the strap, you should be able to fit a wide variety of straps, but I am currently working on a TPU-based strap design, so everything can be fully 3D-printed.
The print profile's default filament type is set to PETG-HF, although other materials should work similarly.
I am working on the TPU version, as well as on more visually-appealing versions using patterns on the external surface of the tube. As soon as I print and test the prototypes, I will upload them here, so stay tuned for updates!
P.S. I apologize for the annoyingly long thread for the covers. That will be fixed in future releases of the carrying tube using a simpler locking/unlocking mechanism.
Happy printing/storing/transporting/presenting!
