This is a 3D model of a clay figurine unearthed in Fukushima City, Fukushima Prefecture, considered a masterpiece from the late Jomon period
It is thought to represent a pregnant woman due to its prominent chest and abdomen
- Sculptural characteristics: While many clay figurines are 'standing figures', the most significant feature of this clay figurine is its 'bent posture', with it sitting down and supporting its knees with both hands
- Details: We precisely modeled everything from the protrusions on the head and its stable triangular form to its somewhat melancholic yet gentle expression
- Historical value: As an artifact symbolizing the spiritual culture of the Jomon people and the form of prayer at that time, it has been designated a National Important Cultural Property
