Self-watering Seed Starter Eco filament usage
Print Profile(3)

Description
Check out my new, fresh self-watering seedstarter!
The model contains:
- 10 growing pots
- 1 base for the growing pots
As always, my main goal was to reduce the filament usage and at the same time, keep the sturdiness of both the pots, and the base of the seedstarter
I managed to get this model to about 110g of filament (PLA).
I believe the most important thing in desiging such a seedstarter is the cost of the print. It really should be as cheap and as lightweight as possible if you are serious about your gardening hobby and you want to grow as many plants as you possibly can.
How the self-watering works?
- Pour water into the base, and not the pots
- The soil that is in the pots will soak up that water
- It really is as simple as that!
What changed?
- New pot design that allows for a much easier removal of the small plant.
- New design also makes it possible to stack the pots on top of eachother for storing purposes.
- New water “exchange” holes. The problem with roots growing out of holes in the pots is eliminated.
Dimensions:
- Plant Pot: 47x47x38
