Description

When thinking about my favorite stores from the past, Toys R Us comes in at the top of the list. I was extremely lucky to have so many memories of this place. Being able to walk the aisles and see every toy you could think of was amazing as a kid. It's the reason why I, and most likely many of you, still have an appreciation for toys and their art, design, and build, and why we still collect today.

So of course, the center of our Strip Mall has to be Toys R Us. The bright colors and large logo sign bring so much fun to this model set, it just fits perfectly right in the middle of everything. There were many different designs of the storefront and logo sign, and I chose the one that had multiple colors in the letters and the "R" in the star. Many stores also had the 4 color rainbow around the entrance and long stretch of windows.

  • For the “TOYS” sign, I am limited to 4 colors since I only use 1 AMS, so the back of the letters is red. But for those that have multiple AMS units connected, you could try adding a 5th color and make the back of the letters white like the photo above. I think that would give some nice contrast in the signage.
  • The signage press fits into the building
  • I used super glue for the door/window and hot glue for the Entrance sign and rainbow frame
  • Assembly guide is included
  • I added a BOM with the filaments used

We're getting close to finishing the strip mall! The next store will be released very soon! Follow along on Patreon if you haven't already for more updates and content. Thanks to all for your support and for commenting and sharing your photos of your makes. I love seeing everyone's models and all the fun details that you add to your diorama scenes to make the model your own. Enjoy!
