M83A2 Resolute 1/24 Main Battle Tank Model

M83 Resolute. Cold war American MBT. Movable Tracks, Cannon, and Turrets.

A Bit of History:

This tank is the start of my printed tank models, this first publish is my dream tank i thought of and had a drawing as a kid, based off the M60A3, it is designed to be completely possible to exist in a parallel universe. 

I have liked tank models all my life, so when i got into robotics and 3D design, not too long ago i said to myself "why not make that dream tank real? And here we are.

Designing the tank:

Drawing is one thing, making it in 3D? hard but one of the most entertaining design i have made, 100% would do it again (and will)

Took me 2 months, but hey its my first time designing a serious tank, don't blame me, I'll get better at it!

I used one of the most underrated design programs: OnShape.

Use the colors you like! there's no limit (specially for AMS)

Extra details:

In my original finished design you can see the tracks and rollers attached to the turret, there's not a clip or anything to attach them; this are optional details that depend of you.

I placed them because Americans love to put tracks on their tanks (not that much now but before? yeah)

IMPORTANT PRINTING INSTRUCTIONS:

First: DO NOT use supports for the sides of the tank (where rollers and tracks go.) 

That will mess the thing up with unremovable supports that are not needed.

Second: the back grill part called ‘mesh’ should have 0 top layers and 25%-30% of rectilinear sparse infill for the grill effect.

Third: the cylindrical holes in the design in between some pieces is NOT A DESIGN ERROR it is for glueing cylindrical 10mmx3mm magnets for a more “playable” Build.

FILAMENTS:

I made this design mostly from PLA, I made the tracks on ASA (a filament i have heard people complain about when used in tracks) ASA for any black piece has worked perfectly fine.

this is a shorter assembly guide for the ones who are good at building this kind of tanks already, but if you find difficulty, check out the assembly guide in the documentation section.

You'll need both glue and good hands for this, but if you are here is because you can.

RED LINES: these indicate the use of glue. (use the glue you find the easier for you) 

BLUE LINES: these lines indicate moving parts, no glue please.

About assembly difficulty:

This design is made to be able to have multiple colors in small pieces without the need of AMS, along with the movable cannon, tracks and cupula, this is what you pay for those details.

This is my first real design, i have no real exposure yet and I don't really expect much from this. But if you really think I deserve a chance as a tank model designer, you could share this model to the community. would really appreciate it.
