Power Strip Light Flap

Description
Anti-Light Flap for Power Strips (Switch Blackout Cover)
No more annoying red glow in the bedroom at night!
Almost every power strip has that one switch that glows bright red when turned on. If the strip is under the bed or next to the nightstand, the light often disturbs sleep. This 3D-printed cover permanently solves the problem and also looks professional.
Why this design?
- Full Control: Thanks to the flap function, you can turn the strip on and off at any time without removing the cover.
- 100% Blackout: When closed, the glow lamp's light is completely absorbed.
- Easy Installation: The frame is simply glued over the power strip's switch (e.g., with a thin strip of double-sided tape).
Technical Details & Printing Instructions
The model consists of two parts: the frame and the flap. The parts can be easily assembled.
- Material: It's best to use black PLA or PETG. Light colors (white/yellow) often still allow residual light to shine through.
- Layer Height: 0.2 mm is ideal.
- Support: Not necessary.
- Infill: 15% - 20% (for black, this is completely sufficient to be opaque).
Assembly Tip:
Briefly clean the surface of the power strip with some glass cleaner or alcohol before attaching the frame. A small dot of superglue or a narrow piece of double-sided mounting tape on the corners of the frame will hold the construction securely.
Enjoy undisturbed sleep! If the model helps you, I'd be happy to see a photo of your print and a review.
