Super Mario - Optimized Model (No AMS)
Print Profile(3)

Bill of Materials
Description
This model is Super Mario. The main challenge was to create an iconic collectible while minimizing filament waste and post-production time
- Model Height
The model is approximately 14cm tall
🚀 Why choose this model?
Unlike single-color models or those optimized exclusively for AMS (which generate a lot of waste during color changes), this Mario is designed to be printed in individual parts
- Zero Waste (No AMS Required): Each part is divided by color. No automatic multi-color system is needed; just load the correct filament for each plate
- Minimal Supports: Thanks to careful modeling, the total model weighs 73g, while the necessary supports are only 6g (about 8%). Less wasted material and cleaner surfaces
- Precise Interlocks: Each component is designed to fit perfectly, ensuring a solid assembly and impeccable alignment
🛠️ Technical Information
The project is divided into 7 Plates, one for each color needed
- Red: Hat, T-shirt, and M logo
- Blue: Overalls
- Brown: Shoes and hair
- Skin: Head and Ears
- White: Gloves and "M" logo background
- Yellow: Overalls buttons
- Black: Details above the eyes and mustache
Recommended print parameters:
- Layer Height: Variable from 0.08 to 0.20 (the profile is already configured with variable heights)
- Supports: Tree Supports "On build plate only"
- Infill: 10-15% (Gyroid)
- Material: PLA
🧩 Assembly Instructions
Assembly is extremely simple. Thanks to the division into pieces, you won't have to mask anything for painting: the colors will already be perfect
- Remove the few existing supports
- Perform a dry fit test to check tolerances
- Use a few drops of cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) in the positioning pins to permanently fix the model
- Start with the body (overalls/t-shirt), add the limbs, and complete with the head
- For the head, the hat must be the last piece to assemble
- The eyes are not split into various colors but are printed in white. These are the only components I decided to “paint” to give a more cartoonish effect, so it's possible to color them with blue, black, and white acrylics using a very fine brush
