Description

🐣 Hatchling Surprise:  Push-to-Reveal Easter Candy (No AMS)

Bring a little spring magic to your Easter setup with this adorable interactive hatchling!

At first glance, it looks like a simple cracked egg resting on tiny chick feet—but give it a gentle press, and the magic happens. The egg compresses to reveal hidden candy inside, creating a delightful “hatching” moment that’s both surprising and fun.

This design captures the spirit of Easter: new life, surprise, and playful interaction.

At 100% scale you can fit small candies inside the toy.  If you want to use small Chocolate eggs then you'd need to scale up the design by at least 140% to make the opening large enough.  When scaling the model up, ensure to scale the dowels up according to the chart shown below or the tolerances will be off:

🛠️ Assembly Instructions

Note the images below are shown using a model printed at 200% so that it is easy to see all the small details.

Start by placing the 2 dowels into the holes in one side of the base piece.

Connect the two yellow base pieces together around the feet as shown below.

Wiggle the feet up and down to ensure they move smoothly inside the base part.

Note the grooves on the inside of the egg shell shape.

These grooves will match up with the legs and the square base sections highlighted below.

Insert the spring pieces into the designated holes in the egg shell part as shown.  PETG springs will be stronger and last longer.  If you don't have PETG, PLA will also work but won't be as bouncy.

While holding the egg shell upside-down, position the top of the feet into the grooves mentioned earlier.

Gently squeeze the top and bottom section together.  The rectangular edges in the bottom (yellow) section have to match up with the grooves inside the shell section.  Then press really hard until you hear a loud CLICK that will lock everything in place.

🌸 Ideas for Use

  • Easter basket stuffer
  • Tabletop decoration
  • Kids’ fidget toy
  • Egg hunt surprise reward

A simple press brings it to life—because Easter should always have a little surprise inside. 🐣✨
