Description

This adjustable stop block mounts directly to your table saw using the miter slot and is designed to be used in conjunction with a sled positioned to the right of the blade. It allows for fast, repeatable length cuts and is especially useful for creating consistent segments for woodturning, such as when using a wedgie sled.

The design consists of a fixed base that locks into the miter slot and an adjustable sliding stop on top.

To set your cut length:

  1. Loosen the top knob and slide the adjustable stop.
  2. Set your zero reference by bringing the adjustable stop into position (for example, aligned with your blade kerf or initial cut position), then tighten the M3 bolt on the zero block to lock in that reference point.
  3. From there, adjust your final cut length by either:
    • Measuring the desired distance between the zero block and the fixed block on the baseplate, or
    • Placing a previously cut piece between the fixed base and the zero block for quick, repeatable setups.

The base is secured in the miter slot using the included clamp, tightened with an M6 fluted bolt and nut.
The adjustable stop slides along the top slot and is locked in place using a knob with an M6 bolt and nut.

Print & Material Notes

  • Recommended material: PETG (used for this build) PLA should work fine as well.
  • I printed the miter slot clamp at 100% infill for maximum strength and holding power
  • Other parts can be printed with standard infill (30–40% works well)

Hardware Required

  • 1 × M3 x 20 mm bolt
  • 1 × M3 washer
  • 1 × M3 nut
  • 1 × M6 x 16 mm fluted bolt (for miter slot clamp)
  • 1 × M6 x 30 mm bolt (for top knob)
  • 2 × M6 nuts
