X-Wing Starfighter

This model is my first more complex self-designed project, inspired by the Star Wars universe and specifically designed to perfectly accommodate an approximately 7 cm action figure. Ideal for collectors, dioramas, or as a stylish display model.

The X-Wing was designed so that it can be easily printed without AMS. All parts are optimized for simple and reliable printing.

The R2-D2, is optionally printable with or without AMS – depending on whether you want to print in multiple colors or not. Additionally, R2-D2 is removable, offering additional flexibility for painting or swapping.

The wings are foldable and feature an integrated locking mechanism, allowing you to switch between flight and attack positions.

For assembly, the parts are secured with super glue, ensuring a stable and durable construction.

Additionally, several display options are included:

• A stand for freestanding flight mode to dynamically showcase the X-Wing
• Feet for standing for a stable presentation on flat surfaces
• Option for wall mounting to hang your model in a space-saving way

Material Note:

• All parts were printed from PLA+
• The transparent stand was made from transparent PETG to achieve a floating effect

• For the cockpit hinge, a 1mm drill bit and a 1mm wire or similar are needed.

I painted the model afterwards. This "aged effect can be easily achieved by mixing some black acrylic paint with plenty of water, applying it, and immediately wiping it off with a tissue.
