Description
The Boeing 2707 was developed to be the first supersonic aircraft for passengers. After winning the public competition organized by the United States Government to build the first aircraft of its kind, Boeing began its development at its facilities in Seattle, Washington. The high costs, the lack of a defined market, and growing protests about the harmful environmental effects of the considerable sonic boom it would cause, led to its cancellation in 1971, before any prototype was completed.
