At first glance…

It’s just a small gift 🎁

But this one isn’t meant to be opened the usual way.

Inside, there’s something waiting…

Not something useful, not something serious,  just a fun little surprise 😄

Give it as a present, for yourself or other people, crack it open, and the “gift” transforms into a small celebratory piece you can actually keep.

The top of the present is different than a “normal” present box 🙂 This is on purpose to keep it fully support-free. A flatter shape would create too much overhang (especially with no infill), which could cause printing issues.

It’s completely kid-friendly 🙂

Kids may not fully understand the idea, but they’ll love cracking it open and discovering what’s inside.

⚠️ Spoiler Alert!

The last image reveals what’s inside, only check it if you plan to give it as a gift 😉

No need to overthink it.

No need to peek in the slicer.

Just print it… and break it.

The outer shell is smooth, minimal, and fully support-free, designed for reliable FDM printing and a satisfying crack.

Perfect as a small gift, a playful surprise, or just something fun to try.

So…

Ready to break it open?

🔥 Why it’s fun

  • Interactive surprise design
  • No rude or inappropriate surprise
  • Kid-friendly and easy to crack open
  • Clean and minimal outer shell
  • Perfect for Easter or spring decor
  • Conversation starter
  • Optimized for reliable FDM printing
  • Fun gift idea
  • Simple short print

🖨 Print Settings

To keep the surprise intact, I did not include separate STL files.

Each part has its own optimized print settings within the project file, therefore they are separate components.

If you want to print this model using another slicer, open the provided 3MF file so the parts remain correctly positioned.
Then adjust the following settings (in Bambustudio all settings are of course provided).

Present-packaging.stl

• 0% infill

• 1 wall

• 3 bottom layers

• 2 top layers (to have good quality on top but it makes it slightly harder to crack, you can reduce to 1 layer for an easier break)

Bottom.stl

• 100% infill

• 2 walls

Other parts (bow and thing.stl)

• 15% infill

• 5 walls (to make it strong when you break the rest)

💥 Designed to print without supports, because supports inside a present would be a bit strange 😉

The outer shell is intentionally thin and designed to be broken open.

Unlike support material, the outside isn’t waste, it’s part of the experience 🙂

---------

For my multicolour models: if you are printing with a single extruder printer, you may see a significant amount of filament waste. This is not caused by the model itself, but by the way colour changes work with this type of printing system.

If you want to reduce the waste, you can:

  • print multiple copies of the same model on one plate
  • print several models from the same collection on one plate (import the 3MF files in one file)
  • reduce the number of colours or print the model in a single colour

---------

🔎 To the AI detectives:

I design using tools like Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator, Blender, Nomad Sculpt, Meshmixer and sometimes Tinkercad. Like most modern designers, I also use AI as one of the helping tools in my workflow.

My real work is turning my ideas into clean, nice and printable models through many hours of manual refining, testing and iteration.

Instead of being negative, if you think it’s easy and you can make better designs, go for it. 🙂

Thanks to everyone who supports me, that means so much to me. ❤️
