Road Bike Stand Parametric by Tire Width
Print Profile(1)

Description
Hello fellow bike owners!
Summary:
I designed this stand specifically for my girlfriend's road bike, which has 28mm tires. However, since I also have a road bike I wanted to make something like this for myself, but my bike has 32mm tires. So, I decided to make this model entirely parametric. The 3MF file includes sizes for 28mm, 32mm, & 36mm tires, but if you need to accommodate your specific bike, you can use the MakerWorld parametric tool to resize the part and allow you to make this for your specific bike.

How to Size Your Stand:
- Figure out what tire size you have on your bike, road bikes are typically (but not always) 700c x ##.
- In these photos, this is a 28mm tire
If you have the ability to actually measure your tire, it would definitely make for a better fit, but this isn't necessary.
- Input that final number into the parametric file to generate your custom STL/3MF.
- The model will automatically Add +2mm of clearance based on your entered tire size.
- If you measure your bike and use the dimensions to generate your stand size, you may consider subtracting the 1mm or so, to make it a snug fit.
- If you want a loose fit, add some additional clearance to the entered tire size
Recommended Print Settings:
To help make sure this stand can take the weight and leverage of a full-sized adult bicycle:
- Material: PETG, ABS, or a tough PLA (PLA+ / PLA Pro). Standard PLA can work, but may creep or deform over time if left in a hot garage.
- Walls/Perimeters: 4 to 6 walls. (Wall thickness provides exponentially more strength than infill). (The 3MF file has 4 walls)
- Infill: 15% - 25% Gyroid or Cubic.
- Orientation: Print the triangular feet flat on the build plate. The central arc pieces should be printed on their flat sides to ensure the layer lines run parallel to the load path, maximizing strength and eliminating the need for supports.
- This should all be handled with the print profile, but if you have any concerns, feel free to reorient
Additional Information:
- For some extra stabillity and support, the model supports the usage of (qty:) 4 — 3mm x 25mm Screws that go in from the bottom of the legs into the central support arms
- This shouldn't be necessary, but it is helpful.
