Description

A cover I modelled for my UniFi G6 Pro Entry as my wife didn't like the ‘Death Star Detention Centre’ look of the black unit.

The print only covers the front half of the doorbell and not the tapered rear half, though the sides could easily be extended, or you could design a separate section to be fitted from the rear if you wanted to follow the shape of the device.

I've printed this on my P2S in white PLA and it works fine, but my preference for outdoors prints is ASA or ABS but I've currently run out, so will likely re-print it when I get some more. Obviously you can choose any colour you like though!

The model is printed face-down, and with the settings provided in the profile does not require any supports. However, if you change settings you might find that you need to add them. Because I wanted a smooth front, I've printed it on a Bambu Smooth PEI plate - it should print just as well with any other plate but the plate texture will get transferred to the front of the cover. I've also rotated the model through 45 degrees for printing as this gives a cleaner surface.

The clips on the sides that hold the cover in place are not very substantial due to the overhang necessary to print them. If you find the cover is not staying in place, you might want to consider a couple of small drops of PVA glue on the sides. This should be enough to keep it there, but still allowing you to easily remove the cover and any glue residue when necessary.

Finally, the G6 does get warm in use, so if you're in a hot climate please ensure that you check for overheating when using this cover.
