Description

Boost Me (for free)

If you love the model, I would appreciate a like and a boost!  Let me know if anything can be improved.

Motor Mod Kit for my 8in Stargate (Rotating Inner Ring) model.  The inner rings and the outer ring with the peg joints remain from the original print profile, if printing for the first time please use the link to print plates 1-3.  This print profile contains only the components needed to modify the original.

You will also need to use the motor, gearbox, AAA battery pack, and a couple of the screws from the Maker's Beginners Kit (link below).  The kit has links and instructions on how to print the components needed for the motor housing, gearbox, and AAA battery pack.

04/11/26 Update: I have updated the files to include the motor/gear housing and AAA battery pack STL models to make things easier (along with 3mf files).  Assembly guides are provided as well.

I will note that the Dual-axis Gear Reduction Kit is a 1:48 ratio (LA017).  If you don't get the beginners kit, I have listed the individual items you need from Makers Supply.

I have uploaded an exploded view gif that should give you a good idea of how to assemble the kit once you have printed and assembled the beginner's kit components.  I will mention that I used a little solder on the electrical connections to the battery case and motor to ensure a good connection once assembled.

As with the manual stargate model, this is printed with a 0.4mm nozzle, 0.12mm layer height.

Supports are needed for the stargates platform base since we have to accommodate the electronics inside.

Let me know if you feel additional documentation is needed.
