Description

Imperial Credit Chit (Weighted | Fidget-Friendly Design)

This started because my son got into Star Wars… and wanted “real” Star Wars money.

A simple lightweight print didn’t cut it — so naturally, I took it way further than necessary.

The result is a weighted Imperial Credit Chit designed to feel like real galactic currency — solid, substantial, and incredibly satisfying in the hand.

Built Around Real Weight

This model is specifically designed for 1/4 oz wheel weights, embedded mid-print to give it real heft.

The best part — the pause is already built into the print profile, so it should just work.

When prompted, drop in the weights, resume the print, and they’ll be fully sealed inside.

Choose Your Weight

4 versions are included so you can dial in the feel:

  • No weights (lightweight display version)
  • 1× 1/4 oz
  • 2× 1/4 oz
  • 4× 1/4 oz (1 oz total — this is the sweet spot)

OR you can print different denomination / colors in different weights to add differentiation and more weight to more expensive credit chits! Maybe Copper is only worth 1 credit and you just put a single or no weights inside while Silver might be worth 5 credits and you put 2 weights in while finally gold is worth 10 and has 4 weights inside. I hope its' flexible enough so you can choose what works best for you!

The 1 oz version feels the best in hand — balanced, solid, and perfect for fidgeting.

Designed to Be Handled

I spent time refining the shape so it’s not just accurate — it’s comfortable.

  • Smoothed edges
  • Softened corners
  • Easy to roll, flip, and fidget with

No sharp edges, no fatigue — just something you’ll keep picking up without thinking.

Finish Options (Shown in Photos)

  • Silk Filament
Bright, reflective, and clean — great for a “mint” credit look.
  • Matte Black + Rub ‘n Buff (recommended)
Printed in matte black and finished with Rub ‘n Buff for a worn metallic effect.
The matte surface holds the wax better, and the black base naturally darkens edges and recesses — giving it a subtle, used-in-the-galaxy feel.

Wheel Weights Used

Designed around these 1/4 oz weights:

Each ¼ oz weight measures at around 3.8mm x 16.2mm x 18.9mm

What started as a quick print for my kid turned into something a bit more over-engineered… but in the best way.

Because if you're making Star Wars money, it should at least feel real.

Printing Note

These were successfully printed at 0.20mm layer height. I had issues at different layer heights with the bridging not working correctly and failing over the weights, so I do not recommend changing the layer height.
