Description

Camping Gas Canister Mount & Storage Rail System (450g)

This modular mount is designed specifically for standard 450g camping gas canisters, offering both secure mounting during use and convenient storage when not in operation.

The system consists of two main components:

  • Canister Mount (left part): A circular holder that securely supports the gas canister during use. The canister is held in place with a snap-in / press-fit design, allowing it to be easily inserted and removed. When empty, the canister can be quickly swapped out without tools.
  • Guide Rail System (right parts): A set of rails that allow canisters to be easily stored and organized when not in use.

The design allows the mount to slide smoothly on and off the rails, making it quick to reposition. When cooking, the mount can be transferred to a shorter rail to keep the canister close and accessible to the stove, improving convenience and setup efficiency.

All parts feature pre-made countersunk holes, compatible with standard 4–4.5 mm wood screws, so installation is straightforward and requires only basic tools.

Additional features:

  • Support-free 3D printing for hassle-free production
  • Quick and simple assembly
  • Snap-fit canister retention for fast replacement
  • Modular system for flexible mounting and storage

Material recommendation:
For best durability and outdoor performance, it is recommended to print the parts in PETG (or stronger material) to ensure resistance to heat, UV exposure, and general wear.

Real-World Use Case (Overland Setup)

I designed and use this system inside my overland vehicle, which has a custom-built drawer system in the luggage compartment.

  • The long rail is mounted inside the drawer and is used to store two gas canisters securely while traveling.
  • The short rail (with stopper) is mounted on the pull-out drawer section that slides out to reveal my camping stove.

When I’m ready to cook, I simply slide the canister mount from the storage rail onto the short rail. This positions the canister close to the stove for easy access, while keeping it out of the way of cooking and not taking up valuable workspace inside the drawer.

The goal of this setup is to stay efficient and organized, while still having quick and easy access whenever I want to cook.
