These magnetic life counter hearts are reversible, with a clean red heart on one side and a black, broken heart on the other. Take damage? Flip the magnet and keep trucking!

I actually use these in my high school classroom! My students have 3 HP. Three counts of misbehavior or failing to get their work done turns a formative activity into a graded activity. It gamefies classroom management a bit, and the kids start holding each other to account as the lives tick down. 

There are two internal slots sized for a set of 12x2mm nominal disc magnets I had, which actually measured about 1.6mm thick. There is a pause in the 3mf at the right height for insertion. Poles shouldn't matter. I would recommend a dab of super glue.

This could easily be sized up or down as needed, just adjust the cylinders and pause to suit!
