Description
Enclosure for automatic / differential circuit breaker box, or Cover for miniature circuit breaker box.
Yes, that annoying box at the entrance of our homes with the little levers that do nothing but collect dust…
The automatic differential or miniature circuit breaker box is something inevitable and necessary, but it's hard to find something to cover them that's the right size and that we like.
Surely, like many of you, I have a somewhat old differential box. Its measurements are no longer common
348 X 195mm. This makes it very difficult to find a box or enclosure to cover them that is of good quality and with a design we like.
I spent a long time looking for a lid for this box. Tired and fed up with searching, as a Maker I said to myself “Well, I'll make it myself…!”
Today, I proudly publish the outcome of the project.
I have managed to design an enclosure for the circuit breakers that is truly very robust, practical, and original.
The advantage of this enclosure is that; you can use it with a decorative frame or without anything.
If you want to change the central image, it's easy and quick to replace. If you want to change the decorative frame and print a different one, it's also easy to replace. All without having to move, remove, or modify the enclosure's frame.
My project consists of:
1 fixed frame that is mounted on the wall.
1 removable frame that is attached to the fixed frame.
1 cover divided into 2 parts that covers the enclosure.
1 hinge that opens and holds the cover.
I include a PDF assembly and installation manual, where I explain in detail how to assemble the enclosure, how to insert a decorative frame of your choice, how to install it on the wall, and some tricks.
As always, I recommend reading the manual before starting to print.
In addition to this, and as you can see in the images, I have adapted the project to allow for a decorative frame of your choice and a central image to be inserted.
The decorative frame I used and that you see in the images is from my friend Christian, @RosasWelt

The central image I used to finish the project is from my colleague @Protoprints, “The Starry Night” by Van Gogh
I hope you like it. If you dare to undertake this project, I hope to see photos of your ideas!
