Description

A miniature reef made from the parts usually thrown away.

The Recycled Reef is a small marine aquarium diorama made by turning 3D printing waste into the main design feature.

Tree supports become coral branches, while purge poop and color-change scraps become the gravel and seabed texture. Instead of hiding waste, this project celebrates it and gives it a new visual purpose.

The goal was simple: create something decorative, recognizable, and fun using material that is normally discarded. The result is a miniature reef scene that shows how failed or leftover filament can still become part of a beautiful final object.

This model is designed to be easy to assemble and accessible, with no AMS, no glue, and a supportless main print. It is a small example of how creative reuse can turn printing leftovers into design.
