Description

EFA Reconstruction. The Eurofighter Typhoon, whose prototype was designated EFA (European Fighter Aircraft), is an advanced, twin-engine, fourth-generation multi-role (Swing Role) military aircraft with the primary role of interceptor and air superiority fighter. The design and production of the Typhoon is the responsibility of a consortium of three companies, Alenia Aermacchi (merged into Leonardo, the new name of Finmeccanica since 2017), Airbus Group, and BAE Systems, through a joint holding company, Eurofighter GmbH, established in 1986. The project is managed by NETMA (NATO Eurofighter and Tornado Management Agency), which also acts as the first customer
