GIGAFOURMIS – Ant keeping & 3D Printing

I am a French-speaking creator specializing in ant keeping and I have an online store (ACCESSFOURMIS) where I sell 3D printed ant keeping equipment. On MakerWorld, I share some of my models for free for the community. Feel free to share your prints, photos, or remixes with me here or on my social media!

Hanging ant cage – With lid
Size: 7.5 cm × 7.5 cm × 7 cm

A 3D printed cage specially designed to feed your ants, for example with larger prey (crickets, worms, cockroaches, etc.). Thanks to its spaced bars, if the prey is large enough, the ants will be forced to cut and transport the food piece by piece, which is great for making beautiful observations. Otherwise, you can simply hang it and put food inside to add a bit of verticality to the ant farm.

Main features:

  • Removable lid for easy cage filling
  • Spaced bars allowing ants to pass through
  • 4 holes for hanging the cage high up
  • Included in the file: a small adapter to easily attach pieces of 3D filament (or a thin string)
  • Can also be placed directly on the ground
  • Can probably be used with other insects or reptiles

Easy printing:

  • Prints with support (recommended orientation: cage opening facing up
  • Print time: approximately 3 hours
  • Recommended to use PLA

If you test it, you can tag me (@gigafourmis) on my social networks so I can see the video! Or post photos directly on this MakerWorld page.
