Description
The M 290.0 series railcars (production type designation Tatra 68 according to the engines used; in 2020, the 870 series was additionally assigned according to the UIC), also called the "Slovenská strela" (Slovak Arrow), like the train service on which they ran, were manufactured in 1936 for the Czechoslovak State Railways by the Tatra company in Kopřivnice in a total of two units. They represent technical progress and efforts for fast rail transport in interwar Czechoslovakia, for which they are exceptional in their design, appearance and travel comfort.
