Description

Assembly instruction is at the end!

Are chess boring for you to play? Are you too good and don't have any challenge while playing? Or maybe you're that weak that you lose in 5 moves?

Well here's the solution for all of these problems!

Introducing something entirely new in chess!

A chess set that will let you win against Magnus Carlsen (effects not guaranateed).

In normal chess there's exactly one starting position. Always the same setup. It never changes.

In this chess number of different starting positions is about 2.63x10^35 (that's far more than number of stars we can observe as a humanity).

In here every piece is openable and inside of it you can hide another, small piece.

With special question mark squares you can mark spots when you must open your pieces. And inside can be anything. After opening a pawn you can find a rook or a bishop inside, after opening queen you can find a pawn… or an enemy knight. This can lead to absurd situations like capturing your own horse (you capture a pawn staying on ? square and inside your knight there's the pawn that you just captured but smaller) or even moments when game is over through a paradox (you open a bishop and there's enemy rook inside and the bishop was standing on the same line as king……).

No tactics are able to be done here. Because how do you want to play any opening starting with both E line pawns out if one of them turns into a rook.

As you can see this chess version can be fun for everyone.

You can put in the small pieces yourself and go play with your friend.

Or give it to two of your friends to see what will happen.

You can also just simply prank your friends by making inside figures only pawns on his side and only queens on your side (because no one said you can't change quantity of a specific figure).

There's only a few rules you need to follow in order to game to be fun and have at least one king on each side for the entire game:

  1. You can open your king ONLY when your small king is already out on the board.
  2. If there are two kings on your opponents side you can just capture one of them as a normal figure (use the small one as the one not acting as king).
  3. Put the question mark squares only on lines 3,4,5 and 6 so your pieces won't all before first move.
  4. You can only open a figure when it stands on ? square.

There's no more rules. Rest of them is simply what you will choose. For example:

  • You either can or must open a piece when it stands on ? square.
  • You can have only your pieces inside you pieces or you can have also enemy pieces inside of them (in the second variation I recommend having someone who won't play putting all the figures in).
  • You can choose how many ? squares would you like to have ( for me 8 was really good with one for every line (A-H) and 4 on either black and white)

If you have a difficulty with closing the pieces just hold the lower part in one of your hands and rest of a piece in your other hand. Then simply attacht them to each other and turn around the lower part until it won't fall apart.

I have made a separate print profile for each of the figures and one having them all on just 3 plates if you don't mind a little lower quality and want to print it faster.

There's no board in this model as most of you already have one and if you don't there's a lot of models here, on Makerworld.

Just remember that as pieces are quite big the best square size is 35mm per side (as question mark squares).
