Description

Ultimate Raspberry Pi 7" Cyberdeck & Control Terminal

  • Author's Note: I used AI to help me write and format this description because I have a really hard time explaining things clearly, but the design, the printing, and the build are 100% mine!

Turn your Raspberry Pi into the ultimate portable workstation, smart home kiosk, or cyberdeck with this comprehensive, fully integrated 3D-printable enclosure!

Designed specifically around the Official Raspberry Pi 7" Touchscreen, this build offers a rugged, clean, and highly functional housing. Whether you're building a network testing rig, an SDR/Ham radio terminal, a portable gaming console, or a slick smart home dashboard, this enclosure has room and mounts for all the necessary bells and whistles.

🌟 Key Features

  • All-in-One Integration: Securely houses your Raspberry Pi, a 7" touchscreen, an internal USB hub, and a dedicated GPIO breakout board for easy prototyping.
  • Panel-Mount Ready: Designed with precision cutouts for flush, professional-looking exterior ports including USB-C, Ethernet, 3.5mm Audio, and an SMA antenna (perfect for LoRa, SDR, or extended WiFi).
  • Integrated Audio & Vision: Features internal mounting for a 30mm micro speaker and an Arducam PiCam module.
  • Active Cooling: Dedicated space for a 30mm cooling fan to keep your Pi running smoothly under heavy loads.

🛒 Bill of Materials (BOM)

To complete this build, you will need the following hardware components. (Note: You will also need a Raspberry Pi and standard M3 screws/heat-set inserts for assembly.)

🚧 Future Updates & Work in Progress

This project is actively evolving! I am currently working on other configurations to expand the functionality of this deck. Upcoming updates include:

  • Dedicated SDR Holder: A specialized mount to keep your Software Defined Radio securely in place.
  • Custom Keyboard Lid: I will be making a new lid featuring a custom DIY keyboard for a much cleaner, folding-laptop look. This will be uploaded in a future update!

💬 Feedback & Requests

I'd love to hear how you are using this case. If you have any suggestions, ideas, or requests for specific configurations, please let me know in the comments!

🖨️ Recommended Print Settings

  • Material: PETG, ABS, or ASA is highly recommended for temperature resistance (the Pi can get warm inside an enclosure!), though a sturdy PLA like JAYO will work nicely for lighter duty.
  • Wall Loops (Perimeters): 3-4 for added structural rigidity.
  • Infill: 15-20% Gyroid or Honeycomb.
  • Supports: Tree/Organic supports are recommended for the panel-mount cutouts and overhangs.
  • Orientation: Print the main front chassis face-down to ensure the screen bezel comes out perfectly clean and smooth on your Bambu Lab build plate.
