Description
BRUNIQUEL MAMMOTH ATLATL
This is a fragment of a spear thrower, approximately 12.4 x 6 x 1.3 cm in size, carved from reindeer antler and dated to approximately 12,500 BC, thus from the Magdalenian period of the Upper Paleolithic, which is currently housed in the British Museum
The spear thrower was found in one of the four rock shelters of Montastruc, near Bruniquel Castle

The Paleolithic spear thrower was an essential hunting tool of the Upper Paleolithic, considered the "rifle" of prehistory, which acted as an extension of the arm to launch azagayas (light spears) with great distance, power, and precision, improving safety when hunting large mammals from afar. It consisted of a shaft with a hook for the dart, often decorated, made of antler, bone, or wood

DOWNLOADABLE FILES:
The design loaded in the print profile has approximately the same dimensions as the original piece, so an .obj file version is available for download, for cases where it is desired, for example, to scale it to increase or decrease its size
FOR THE MOMENT I HAVE ONLY PREPARED THE SUPPORT IN SPANISH, BUT IF YOU WISH, YOU CAN LEAVE A COMMENT TO REQUEST IT IN ANOTHER LANGUAGE
PRINT PROFILE:
I have only uploaded a print profile with a layer height of 0.12, slightly increased bottom layers, and 20 percent infill. I believe this will give the best results, however, you can download the .obj file and configure the print to your liking
INSTRUCTIONS FOR FINAL FINISH:

After printing, I recommend using fine-grit sandpaper just to remove burrs. After that, I advise applying special glass enamel with a paper napkin, so that it gets into all the cracks, to finish once dry with new sanding
The varnish I recommend is the one corresponding to the photograph following this text, preferably in brown
