⚠️ IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE PRINTING
I have included a dedicated Tolerance Test Plate containing a small section of the pole base and a test insert.
Since every printer has different tolerances, I highly recommend printing this plate first.
Try fitting the insert into the base: if it's too loose or too tight, adjust the XY Scaling of the insert in your slicer until you achieve a perfect, snug fit.
This step is crucial to ensure the structural integrity and stability of the main pole that supports the LED strip.
Improvements & Changes:
- Enhanced Stability: Added an "X" reinforcement to the base to provide better support for the main pole.
- New Top Design: Created a minimalist cap for a cleaner finish at the top.
- Optimized Tolerances: Increased the diameter of the rod connectors from 19.8 mm to 20.1 mm. This ensures a much tighter fit and overall better structural integrity.
Future Improvements / Work in Progress:
- Integrated Pins: I'm considering merging the pins directly onto the rod pieces to simplify assembly.
- Internal Supports: Planning to design spacers that sit between the rod and the outer shell to keep the pole perfectly centered and prevent any movement when the lamp is shifted.
- Cable Management: Replacing clear tape with dedicated mounting points for small transparent zip ties to secure the LED strip more professionally.
Slim Version: A smaller diameter version is on my mind to save filament and offer a more slender aesthetic.
