Never waste a partial spool again. This fully 3D-printed filament welder lets you splice two filament ends together in seconds — no metal hardware, no PTFE tubes, completely self-contained.
Assembly: The hinge is assembled by threading a short piece of 1.75 mm filament through the hinge pin hole and clipping both ends flush. That's it — no screws, no metal pins, no glue.

How it works:
- Straighten both filament ends (by hand or with pliers)
- Insert one end into each block
- Heat both ends simultaneously with a soldering iron set to printing temperature
- Immediately push the two blocks together and hold for at least 5 seconds
- Trim the weld bead flush with a filament cutter (mini flush cutters)
- Optional: smooth with a small file for a clean, even result
Compatible with: 1.75 mm filament
Why use a filament welder?
- Join leftover spools to avoid mid-print failures
- Switch colors mid-roll without a filament runout sensor
- Use up nearly empty spools without waste
