Rapala F3 Style 4-Color Minnow Lure for Trout

This is my 4-color AMS F3-style minnow lure, designed to print in one single piece and assemble with only a few small parts.

The lure has a very lively action in the water and starts swinging side to side even at very low retrieve speed. It is designed for shallow fishing in streams, rivers, and shallow lakes, where it works great for trout and other predatory fish.

To get the same result as shown here, it is important to use my print profile.

Assembly
The body prints as one part.
After printing, install 3 small eye hooks into the prepared holes in the lure.

Prepare the Holes & Install Hardware: Install the 3 screw eyes into the prepared pilot holes. To make this step incredibly easy, I have uploaded a "Handdrill Handle" model on my MakerWorld profile. You can print it, glue a 1mm HSS drill bit inside, and use it to effortlessly pre-drill the holes before screwing the eyes firmly into place! Alternatively, you can gently heat the screw eyes with a lighter before pressing them into the plastic.

The eye hooks I used are:

• 4 mm outer diameter
• 2 mm inner diameter
• 5 mm shaft length

These can be found very cheaply on Temu and similar sites.

After that, just attach:

• small split rings
• small treble hooks

and the lure is ready to fish.

Finishing
On my own lures, I brushed on 2 coats of clear UV resin and then cured them in a resin curing station. This gives a smoother, more durable finish and helps protect the paint/colors.

Strength note
In my own testing, these eye hooks mounted in the printed body have held more than 6.8 kg.
