Description
Caspian Monster (Ekranoplan or "Caspian Monster", Russian: Экраноплан)
Developed by the Soviet Alekseyev Central Design Bureau, this ground effect vehicle utilizes the ground effect for low-altitude flight. KM is the Russian abbreviation for "prototype". Western countries discovered this aircraft through satellite photos, and it was named due to its massive appearance and being found in the Caspian Sea. The aircraft is 106.1 meters long, has a wingspan of 40 meters, is equipped with 8 VD-7 turbojet engines, has a maximum takeoff weight of 495 tons, and a range of 7500 kilometers. The Soviet Union began its development in 1963, and its maiden flight was successful in 1966. The prototype crashed twice, once in 1969 due to hitting a wave and again in 1980 due to operational error. The subsequently built MD-160 was delivered in 1991, equipped with NK-87 turbofan engines and anti-ship missiles, but it never achieved combat readiness and became an exhibit after being decommissioned in the 1990s. In 2015, Russia restarted ground effect vehicle design work
Tips: There was a Caspian Monster in WM, but I feel there's still a lot of room for improvement in the details. It's a heavy military weapon that has been featured on CCTV Military Channel, hopefully military enthusiasts will like it. Printing at a 45-degree angle yields the best results
