I wanted to install an additional switch in the cockpit of my Ducato 8 (2024). I wanted to avoid drilling holes in the original trim. However, the switch should still be within the driver's field of view. So, I had the idea to integrate it into the storage compartment to the right of the steering wheel.

While looking for solutions, I came across the model by Simple3D  on Printables.com. I optimized it a bit for my purposes:

  • Adapted component dimensions to my Ducato.
  • Added a separate area for the switch. This area is open from below and behind for wiring.
  • Added a screw hole. This allows the insert to be screwed to the trim. The existing trim screw is used for this.
