Here I present my press for metallic inserts with table clamp up to 38.6mm and an adjustable tool holder clamp in a range of 15-25mm Its operation is very simple, a lever pushes a slider attached to a tool holder
The tool holder has been intentionally separated from the slider so that it can be replaced by another type of clamp if necessary
At the back, a small elastic band can be placed so that the tool does not remain down, although usually the lever will have to be guided upwards after an insert
Plates:
I advise that in this project, as in all those where plastic threads are used, a small drop of lubricating oil should be added
Plate 1: The base. Supports must be used as it is hollow to house the table clamps when not in use
Plate 2: The table clamps. They can be stored inside the base using long screws to fix them. These same screws will serve to fix the base to the table
Plate 3: Screws
- 4 27x8mm screws for attaching the tower to the base, the tool holder to the slider, and the top stop to the tower.
-2 52x8 screws to hold the table clamp in the base or to attach the press to the table.
-1 24x15 large-head screw for the lever
-1 24x8 large-head screw for the lever.
-1 49x10 large-head screw for the tool holder clamp
Plate 4: The tower. The slider moves up and down along it with the tool holder
Plate 5: Two optional plugs in case you always want to leave the press fixed to the table and wish to cover the side holes of the base where the screws go
Plate 6: Top stop. It acts as a stop for the slider and at the same time holds the lever
Plate 7: The slider. It slides up and down the tower
Plate 8: The clamp that holds the tools
Plate 9: The lever for performing inserts
Plate 10: The lever handle
