Description

"Memento Amoris"

This is a 3D-printable urn designed to house a standard ash capsule for human remains. It features a minimalist, dignified aesthetic that is both easy to print and visually timeless.

The model shown was printed in Anycubic Black PLA+. However, please note that while PLA+ is great for display, it is often not suitable for earth burials due to its slow decomposition rate.

Legal & Material Considerations For actual burials, it is crucial to consider the regulations of your specific country or region regarding permitted materials.

  • In Germany: Materials used for burials must typically carry the DIN EN 13432 certification.
  • Requirements: The material must be fully biodegradable and completely dissolve within a specific timeframe (the resting period) without leaving harmful residues or microplastics in the surrounding environment.

Recommended Eco-Friendly Materials: To meet these environmental standards, I highly recommend using specialized bio-polymers such as:

  • colorFabb allPHA (100% bio-based and degrades in soil/water)
  • Extrudr Green-TEC (high-performance bio-plastic)

Assembly & Sealing To ensure the remains are kept secure and to prevent the lid from accidentally opening, it is strongly recommended to permanently seal the lid with glue after the capsule has been placed inside.

  • For display urns, standard CA glue (Superglue) works well.
  • For earth burials, please use a bio-compatible adhesive to maintain the urn's eco-friendly integrity.
