The Poop maracas are real musical instruments that produce the classic rattling sound. They can be useful in school, for children, in music, or simply for fun.

The model consists of 2 pieces, the maraca and the handle, designed for easy printing and easy assembly. For printing, I used PLA in different colors.

These Maracas (in the 2-color version) are designed to be printed to reuse purge waste as an active sounding part. In the 2-color version, about 5g of waste is generated from filament purging. After printing, all waste must be collected and inserted inside the Maraca. If you want to increase the sound, you can insert more waste from other prints. 

The 2-color version generates about 1 gram of unused waste from the handle's support, which, if broken into pieces, can also be inserted into the maraca, thus making this print zero-waste.

N.B.: The "ladybug" version generates a lot of waste, much more than what is needed for functionality. The print time is also very high. I made it because I find it very cute, and at my daughter's kindergarten, the teachers use it during music class.

Pre-print instructions:

I strongly recommend using my print profile which is optimized to achieve the best finish on the threaded part of the maraca and handle thanks to a gradual layer height change.

For both pieces, it is advisable to clean the print bed well for proper adhesion, if necessary, use hair spray or glue before printing.

Clean the waste container so that you only use waste from printing the maracas.

Assembly instructions:

• Take the maraca body and the print waste.

  

• Insert all print waste into the maraca body through the threaded hole

  

• Screw the handle until the thread ends

  

• You are ready to play the maraca

  

• If the sound is not to your liking, you can add more print waste until you achieve the desired sound.
