Little Meadow Bunnies Bedtime Story

Spring arrives quietly in the meadow.

First, the frost fades, then the soil warms, and finally, the small white clover flowers begin to dot the grass like tiny stars. At the edge of that meadow sits a burrow where six little bunnies live together. Around the meadow, they are known as The Little Meadow Bunnies.

Each one has an important job when Easter time comes.

Clover is the gardener of the group. Clover spends the early mornings in the soft soil rows, checking the carrots and making sure the sweetest one is ready for the celebration.

Clover is proud of the carrot patch and always carries the best carrot around as a reminder of the meadow’s harvest.

Pippin is the explorer. While Clover works in the garden, Pippin hops through the tall grass searching for colorful eggs hidden all around the meadow. Pippin has the sharpest eyes and is usually the first to shout, “I found one!”

Once the eggs are discovered, Bramble carefully gathers them. Bramble carries the big basket and makes sure every egg is safe and snug. Bramble walks slowly and steadily so none of the eggs bump or roll away.

Not every egg is found right away, though. That is where Willow comes in. Willow carries an empty basket and patiently searches the quiet corners of the meadow. Under flowers, beside stones, and behind tree roots — Willow almost always finds the eggs that everyone else misses.

Near the path that leads into the meadow stands Hazel. Hazel holds the welcome sign and greets visitors who come to see the spring celebration. When the wind blows through the clover fields, Hazel’s sign gently sways as if waving hello.

And finally, there is Honey.

Honey may not carry eggs or baskets, but Honey carries something just as important — a small teddy bear that has traveled through many seasons in the meadow. Whenever one of the bunnies feels tired after a long day of preparing for Easter, Honey is always there with a warm hug and a soft smile.

Together, they prepare the meadow every spring.

Clover grows the carrots.
Pippin finds the eggs.
Bramble gathers them safely.
Willow searches for the last hidden treasures.
Hazel welcomes everyone who visits.
And Honey reminds them that the best part of the meadow is sharing it with friends.

When the morning sun rises on Easter day, the meadow is ready.

And somewhere among the flowers and tall grass, the Little Meadow Bunnies are already hopping happily through the spring air.
