Description
This sundial was developed for didactic and experimental purposes, with the objective of supporting educational activities related to astronomy, time measurement, and the apparent movement of the Sun.
The proposal integrates actions from the "More Science in School" project, fostering learning through experimentation, observation, and the construction of models that bring scientific concepts closer to students' daily lives. With this resource, it is possible to explore topics such as spatial orientation, Earth's rotation, the Sun's position, and the functioning of time-telling instruments throughout history.
The model can be used in schools, museums, science fairs, and educational workshops, serving as support for investigative and interdisciplinary practices. In addition to its pedagogical value, the sundial stimulates scientific curiosity and promotes discussions about astronomy, physics, and scientific culture.
Model adapted from the Cardboard model of the Museum of Astronomy and Related Sciences - MAST
