Description

This is an adapter that lets you use flip-top (Grolsch-style) bottles with a counter pressure filler in stainless steel. Insert the adapter into the flip-top bottle holder — squeeze it slightly to fit it into place. It seats firmly once in.

Here is a video of the adapter in action.

Print settings

Use PETG with a high infill. To get the curves to print well, you need to use supports.

Usage

  • Use the holder designed for flip-top bottles together with this adapter.
  • When loading the bottle, apply a bit of extra pressure to make sure it seats fully in the holder. If the bottle doesn't go all the way in, the bottle lip may contact the metal beer outlet, which risks chipping or cracking the glass.

Why I made this

There is a holder for 26.5 mm short-neck bottles that you can buy, but it doesn't fit all bottles. My bottles have a lower ridge of approximately 27.5 mm in diameter, narrowing to about 25.2 mm just bellow it, with 13 mm from the top of the bottle to just below that ridge. This adapter is designed around those dimensions – your mileage may vary if your bottles differ.
