Description

Update 28/04/2026: I made a new submission for the Intermediate tyre https://makerworld.com/it/models/2731434-formula-1-2026-wind-tunnel-tyre-intermediate#profileId-3027391 Full wet will be the next one!

Update 21/04/2026: I've added a new print profile in which you can find both the 2026 tyre and the 2025 one. I've also slightly modified the shape of the tyre sidewall, making it more round and similar to the real tyre. I strongly suggest using this profile also for the 2026 version.

First of all, a huge thank you to Joshua van der Voort for his excellent F1 Tyre model, which served as a base for this project!

My goal was to create a faithful replica of the F1 Pole Position Award—the 60% scale wind tunnel tyre handed to the polesitter. To fit the build plate of the Bambu Lab A1, this model is defaulted to 1:3 scale, though it can easily be scaled up if you have a larger printer (like the H2C).

What’s New in This Remix:

  • Refined Tyre Profile: Reshaped to be more cylindrical and true-to-life. The tyre is split into two halves for easier printing and are put together with some clips.
  • Redesigned Rim: Updated to better resemble the specific rims used on wind tunnel tyres. The rim is divided into two screw-together pieces. I have also included a separate tyre valve that can be glued into place.
  • 2026 Graphics: All graphical elements have been updated to align with the latest 2026 tyre aesthetics (update: I also included the 2025 version).
  • Display Accessories: Includes a custom-designed wheel nut cap and a tyre stand modeled after the official trophy display.

Pro Tip: For the most authentic look, I highly recommend sanding, priming, and spray painting the rim and valve with glossy black paint.

Printing & Assembly Notes

  • Nozzle Requirements: I used a 0.2mm nozzle for the wheel cap (Plate 1), the tyre stand (Plate 1), and the valve to capture the fine details. While a 0.4mm nozzle might work, I cannot guarantee the results. If there is enough interest, I can design a simplified "0.4mm friendly" cap!
  • Filament Choice: I strongly suggest Bambu Lab Silver PLA Silk for the wheel cap. I used Giantarm Silk, but be aware that silk filaments can be tricky with a 0.2mm nozzle; you may need to fine-tune your flow rate and temperature settings.
  • You can either print both halves with the sidewall graphics (just print the same plate twice) or, in order to save some time and filament, you can print the version with no sidewall markings (I included a dedicated print profile)
  • Assembly: The wheel cap requires minor assembly—simply glue the threaded part to the main body.
  • Customization: On the first plate of the tyre stand, you can choose between "HARD", "MEDIUM", or "SOFT" text. Simply select the one you prefer in your slicer.

Please let me know in the comments if you need further guidance or run into any issues with the print profiles. I’m excited to see your F1 Pole Position trophies!
